Viscosifying starches for wet applications

NOVATION® functional native starch in organic quality help you formulate on-trend, clean label products rich in texture and taste, across a broad range of applications with the benefit of an organic label.

  • NOVATION® 9230 is an organic food starch designed as a thickener and stabilising agent for water-based food systems that undergo heat and shear during food processing. This would include high-temperature processing through scraped surface and plate heat exchangers, direct steam injection and vacuum cooling.
  • NOVATION® 9260 is an organic, functional native food starch refined from waxy maize. It is a food starch designed as a thickener and stabilising agent for water-based food systems. Typical processing conditions would include moderate temperature processing through scraped surface and plate heat exchangers or jacketed kettles.
  • NOVATION® 9330 is a certified organic tapioca-based functional native starch that is recommended for high temperature, high shear, or low pH food processing systems. This product is designed for use in processed foods labelled as organic or 100% organic. It adds texture and stability to a wide variety of food products that undergo the heat and shear extremes of food processing. It is used in aseptic puddings as well as highly acidic food such as fruit fillings.
  • NOVATION® 9360 is the certified organic tapioca-based functional native starch that is recommended for medium temperature, medium shear, or low pH food processing systems. This product is designed for use in processed foods labelled as organic or 100% organic. It adds texture and stability to a wide variety of food products that undergo moderate heat and shear food processing. It is used in puddings as well as fruit fillings/preparations.

  • NOVATION® Endura 0100  functional native starch delivers exceptional process tolerance in recipes that undergo challenging processing conditions, for example, long-term storage stability in ambient or cold environments.

NOVATION PRIMA® functional native starches are a range of process stable clean label starches which provide texture stability for chilled and frozen food products.

  • NOVATION PRIMA® 300 is a clean label functional native starch, based on waxy maize that has high process tolerance. It can be used for modified starch replacement, viscosity and stability build in foods that have an extended shelf-life or need to be freeze-thaw stable.
  • NOVATION PRIMA® 340 clean label starch combines instant viscosity with high freeze/thaw stability allowing manufacturers to produce in advance or store products for longer without compromising on the eating experience of their products. This clean label starch is resistant to harsh processes and ideal for frozen ready meals, fruit preparation and sauces to keep their indulgent texture whilst undergoing extended ambient refrigerated or frozen storage

Texturising starches for wet applications

NOVATION® Indulge functional native starches are a range of co-texturisers to replace fat, protein and other ingredients in foods to mimic and improve the texture and mouthfeel in foods

  • NOVATION® Indulge 2550 functional native starch is an instant clean label co-texturiser that provides authenticity and added indulgence by increasing pulpiness, similar to that made at home, or replaces more costly pulpy ingredients whilst maintaining texture. Suitable for use in dips, pasta fillings (cheese and vegetable), tomato bases, baked goods (e.g. quiches) fruit and vegetable preparations.
  • NOVATION® Indulge 1720 starch is a clean label co-texturiser for protein and/or gelatine replacement in yoghurt, offering cost saving and/or differentiation potential for dairy customers. Suitable for use in yoghurts and sour cream.
  • NOVATION® Indulge 3920 starch is a moderate process tolerant, instant clean label starch providing viscosity and glossy appearance. Suitable for use in mayonnaise, dressings, pizza toppings, fruit fillings and other similar products.
